The Kainos Story
You are being made new.
That single sentence is what this whole house is built around. Before you choose a promise to carry, here is why we exist, what our mark means, and why we only ever work in gold.
The Name
Why we’re called Kainos
Kainos is a Greek word. It means new, but not the kind of new that just means unused or freshly bought. It is the new of something that could not have existed before it, the new of a life that has actually become something else.
The word comes from a single verse the whole house is named after: if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new is here (2 Corinthians 5:17, read it in full context). That verse is not a nice thought to us. It is the actual reason this company has this name.
If you have ever felt yourself quietly starting over, becoming a different person than the one who walked into a hard season, that feeling is what Kainos is named after. Every piece we make is meant to sit close to your skin as a reminder that the new version of you is not a performance you have to keep up. It already happened.
The Mark
A ring, left open on purpose
Look at the small emblem stamped on every piece we make. It is a ring, but look closely and you will see it never quite closes. Right at the top, where a ring usually seals shut, ours leaves a small gap, and three rays of light rise up through it.
That gap is not a flaw. It is the whole idea. A closed ring says: something is being held inside, kept safe, defended. We wanted our mark to say something a little different. Not a wall that keeps trouble out, but an opening that lets something new in. Becoming, not defending.
That is what Kainos stands for as a house. We are not in the business of arming you for a fight. We are in the business of reminding you that you are still becoming who you are meant to be, and that the light is already coming through the gap.
The Material
Why every piece is 18K gold
We only ever work in one material: 18K gold. Not gold plating, not gold vermeil. Solid 18K gold, every time. This is not a styling choice we might change next season. It is a conviction.
Gold is one of the most valuable materials there is, and we think that is exactly right for what these pieces are meant to carry. A promise from God is not a small thing, and we did not want to hand it to you in anything less than a material that matches its worth.
There is an old picture in Scripture of faith being tested the way gold is tested, refined by fire until only the truest part of it remains (1 Peter 1:7, read it in full context). We like that gold is the one metal that comes out of the fire purer than it went in. That is the same promise these pieces are trying to make about the person wearing one.
The Craft
Handcrafted, here in Singapore
Every Kainos piece is handcrafted in Singapore. That matters to us for a simple reason: we want to be able to stand behind the hands that made what you are wearing.
It would have been faster to send this work overseas and simply put our name on the box when it came back. We chose the slower way instead: real craftsmen, real workshops, a piece finished by hand rather than stamped out by the thousand. When you hold one of our crosses, the weight in your hand and the mirror polish under your thumb are the result of actual skilled work, not a shortcut.
